BOISE, IDAHO — The Utah Valley State volleyball team concluded play in the Bronco Invitational by splitting its two games on Saturday. UVSC defeated Boise State in five games, 25-30, 30-27, 26-30, 30-18, 15-13, then lost to Bowling Green 30-25, 23-30, 24-30, 30-32.
Kassidy Brotherson led UVSC in kills and hitting percentage in both games. She had 14 kills and hit .367 in the win over Boise State. Then added 12 kills while hitting .476 in the loss to Bowling Green.
"We served and passed much better today," said UVSC coach
Sam Atoa. "While I'm pleased overall with our play in the tournament, I'm not satisfied."
Atoa said before the tournament that he hoped to win all three games. But realistically thought they could win two. He added that while his squad only won one game, it was in a position to win all three.
The Wolverines don't get much time to rest. UVSC hosts BYU-Hawaii on Tuesday in the Activity Center. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
