GREELEY, Colorado - The first year of wrestling at UVSC was a success despite Thursday night's dual loss 26-11 to University of Northern Colorado. 

UVSC started the dual strong, winning the first two out of three matches. 

Heavyweight Billy Green was the lead off wrestler. It took Green overtime to do it, but he defeated Matt Sens by a 5-3 decision. In the 125-pound match UNC's Kyle Kaiser defeated Ryan Argyle by a 7-2 decision. UVSC's Erkin Tadzhimetov then came right back to defeat Kyle Swenson. The match was tied at three at the end of the third period, but Tadzhimetov was awarded a riding point to earn the victory. 

The Bears won the next five matches giving them a commanding 22-6 lead and clinching a dual win. 

With two matches left, Wolverine 184-pounder Ben Wiscombe refused to go home with an individual loss as he pummeled UNC's Nathan Kimberlin. Wiscombe executed takedown after takedown and cruising to a technical fall win 21-6, good for 5 team points. 

In the final match of the night UNC's Reece Hopkin defeated Darren Cooper by major decision 13-3. 

With the loss the Wolverines end their inaugural season with an impressive record of 10-5 in duals this season.
