Cedar City, UT- The Utah Valley State softball team lost 16-1 and 10-2 to SUU on Tuesday. The losses drop Utah Valley-??s record to 13-29.

In the first game SUU led 7-0 after two innings. Utah Valley scored its only run in the third before Southern Utah added a run in the third and eight in the fourth. The Wolverines had seven hits in the game, two coming from Rachel Hartgrove.

In the second game, UV jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Southern Utah tied the game at one in the third inning and the Wolverines countered with another run in the top of the fourth inning to retake the lead at 2-1. Utah Valley had only three hits in the second game.

But Southern Utah then scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 4-2 lead and followed with six runs in the sixth to put the game away.

Jackie Roberts picked up the loss in the first game while Heidi Boyer suffered the loss in the second.

The Wolverines play a single game at BYU on Thursday at 6 p.m.
