DURHAM, North Carolina - No. 14 Duke proved too tough as Utah Valley's first ranked opponent in school history, defeating the Wolverines 95-61 on Wednesday night in Durham, North Carolina.

Robyn Fairbanks was one of the bright spots for Utah Valley (9-3), as she scored 17 points and set a Cameron Indoor Stadium record with 20 rebounds, which also tied her own school record. Overall, the Wolverines out-rebounded Duke 49-46.

"Talk about a person who's relentless," said Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie of Fairbanks. "To set a record in our own place, that's painful. It's a great compliment to her."

Abby Waner scored 19 points for the Blue Devils (8-3) and tied an Atlantic Coast Conference record with 10 steals while also dishing out seven assists. Carrem Gay came off the bench to lead all scorers with 20 points for Duke.

Utah Valley turned the ball over 39 times, leading to 49 points, while shooting 36.5% compared to just 15 turnovers and a 41.5 shooting percentage by Duke.

The Wolverines had a chance to get within 12 points at the end of the first half, but Fairbanks missed with 9.0 seconds remaining and Chante Black converted on a Devils' fast break to give her team a 44-28 edge after 20 minutes.

The Blue Devils then used a 22-4 run to open the second half, building a 66-32 lead with just over 13 minutes left in the game.

The Wolverines will next host Western State on Friday at 2pm (MT) in the McKay Center.
