Orem, Utah - Robyn Fairbanks and Sandy Marvin combined to score 51 points helping Utah Valley State (12-11) to a 75-54 over Texas-Pan American (10-15) on Saturday night in the Shurian Family Activity Center.
Fairbanks finished with 27 points in 22 minutes, on 9-for-16 shooting, while Marvin added 24 and hit four three-pointers on the night. Julie McMurray added nine points and eight rebounds off the bench for the Wolverines.
"I just felt like from start to finish we kept a pretty good intensity level," said head coach Cathy Nixon. "Sandy was feeling it and we've been trying to get that perimeter scoring presense. I was happy for her because she's been putting in the hard work and the extra time so it's great to see her being successful. She's such a spark plug for us and both ends of the floor...we improve a lot when Sandy's at her best like that."
