OREM, Utah - Volleyball action will resume at Utah Valley University Friday after a 10-day break as the Wolverines (6-9) host the Lady Broncs of Texas-Pan American (4-12).
UTPA hosted the last meeting between the two teams October 10 of this year in which UVU swept the home team in three sets. Sophomore outside hitter Kayli Broadbent led all hitters with 11 kills in the match, and junior libero Allyce Wilson tallied 18 digs in the three sets. Junior middle blocker Kristin Anderson also chipped in three block assists and a block solo.
Broadbent leads the team offensively on the season with 185 kills and an average of 3.49 per set. Anderson follows her with 128 kills and an average of 2.5 per set. Freshman right side Jaicee Kuresa also has 103 kills in 2008.
Defensively, Anderson averages 1.43 blocks per set and has a total of 73 on the year. Kuresa follows with 45 total blocks for an average of .83 per set. Wilson has recorded 255 digs on the back line this season and averages 4.64 per set.
Senior Kellie Phillips leads the Lady Broncs' attack with 169 kills on the year and an average of 3.25 per set. Senior Deanna Schneyer leads UTPA at the net defensively with 27 total blocks on the year and an average of .71 per set. Texas-Pan American has also lost nine of its last 10 matches.
