BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Heidi Stocks had a stellar day from the plate, hitting two home runs but it was a Cal-State Bakersfield walk off homer in the bottom of the seventh that completed a twinbill sweep of Utah Valley, 4-2 and 5-4.

The Wolverines led 4-1 going into the bottom of the sixth of the second game but the Roadrunners were able to tie the game in the sixth and the leadoff batter ended the game with a home run in the bottom of the seventh.

"It's too bad we couldn't hold on," UV head coach Todd Fairbourne said. "I was happy with the way we played all weekend. I give credit to Bakersfield, they took advantage of our mistakes in the second game."

In game one, UV's bats were held in check throughout the early innings of the game as the Wolverines only came up with two hits in the first six innings while falling behind 4-0. Bakersfield got their runs on back-to-back one-out doubles in the second. CSUB got both runs home in the inning. In the fifth, the Runners got a pair of runs on a RBI double and a run-scoring ground out.

The Wolverines put together a seventh inning rally as they picked up a pair of runs on four hits in the inning. Cherylyn McGraw had a one out single before Stocks pounded a home run to right center to cut the lead in half. After a groundout, Kylee Steadman and Shelly Manuel got back-to-back singles to bring the go-ahead run to the plate. The rally ended with a game-ending strikeout.

Game two got off to a more promising start as the Wolverines struck first in the top of the third. Meghan Woodworth raked a double to left and Cherylyn McGraw also reached on a fielder's choice to bring up Stocks, who pounded her second round-tripper of the game to put the Wolverines ahead, 3-0.

Bakersfield scored one in the bottom of the fourth before the Wolverines picked up another run in the top of the sixth when Jessica Anderson led the inning off with a single and came around to score on a Steadman sacrifice fly to put the Wolverines ahead 4-1.

CSUB came back with a three run sixth, taking advantage of a one-out error to score two unearned runs in the inning.

After the Wolverines were held off the board in the seventh, the Runners led their side of the inning off with the game-winning home run.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Wolverines as they welcome BYU to MSTAR Field Wednesday for a single game.
