OREM, Utah - Utah Valley University's wrestling team will compete at the 19th Annual Tracy Borah Duals in Gunnison, Colo., Saturday, with action beginning in the Paul Wright Gym on the campus of Western State at 10 a.m.
The Wolverines (3-2) will look to improve their season dual record, as they will take on host-school Western State, Mesa State, and Colorado State-Pueblo.
"We feel fortunate to have most of our lineup back in action this weekend," UVU head wrestling coach Greg Williams said. "A number of our guys have had to battle through some nagging injuries but it is good to have them back. This will be a good test for us as it is a tune-up for the opening of our conference season that will begin next Saturday at home against Northern Colorado."
UVU's only two losses on the season came on the road and by hands of two of the top ranked squads in the country, the No. 2 ranked Iowa State Cyclones and No. 10 Boise State Broncos.
Last year at the event Utah Valley split their matchups as they went 2-2 on the day. Junior Jeffrey Newby and sophomore Benjamin Kjar led the squad as they went a perfect 4-0 at the Borah Duals last season.
Following the Tracy Borah Duals, UVU will be at home to begin their Western Wrestling Conference schedule. The Wolverines will host the Bears from Northern Colorado Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. in the Shurian Family Activity Center.
