HOUSTON - Utah Valley University advanced to the semifinals of the Great West Conference Volleyball Tournament with a 25-10, 25-12, 25-8 opening-round victory over Chicago State Friday afternoon.
The Wolverines (21-9) will play Houston Baptist tonight at 7 p.m. (MT) at Sharp Gym located on the campus of Houston Baptist University for a berth into the first-ever Great West Conference championship game.
The Wolverines are now 5-0 all-time against the Cougars (0-26), and has swept each match.
Camie Manwill led the Wolverines with 16 kills, while Kayli Broadbent had eight kills and Dani Robison had a season-high seven kills and three block assists.. Allyce Jones tallied 15 digs and Kathleen Stevens had 10 digs and tied a career-high with five service aces. Chelsea Fa'alogo added 25 assists and Rachel Anderson added 12 assists.
