Live Stats vs. GCUOREM, Utah – Fresh off of a sweep over in-state foe Utah State in its home finale on Monday night, the Utah Valley University volleyball team will return to WAC play to close its regular season with a pair of crucial contests on the road this weekend. The Wolverines will begin the trip against Bakersfield in California on Thursday before heading to Arizona to take on Grand Canyon on Saturday afternoon.

UVU and CSUB will enter Thursday's match tied for third place in the WAC standings with identical 7-5 records while GCU is right behind with a 6-6 clip.

The Wolverines will enter the weekend having won three straight matches. UVU began the winning streak with a 3-0 sweep over Chicago State last Thursday (25-13, 25-16, 25-13) and followed it up with a 3-1 victory over the first-place Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos on Saturday (25-19, 19-25, 25-17, 25-14). The Wolverines then sent their four seniors out on a high note on Monday with a sweep over the in-state Aggies on Senior Night (25-22, 25-22, 25-21).

Macky Treanor, who was named the WAC Player of the Week on Monday, led UVU offensively in all three matches. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 4.20 kills per set during the three victories as she recorded 42 kills. She also hit a solid .369 during the stretch, while averaging 1.70 digs per set and 0.80 aces.

Lauren Bakker also had thee solid outings over the past week for the Wolverines as she set three UVU blocking records while averaging 1.90 blocks per set at the net. The junior middle blocker became the program's all-time leader in solo blocks on Thursday, total blocks on Saturday and block assists on Monday. She passed former Wolverine great Jessica Endres (2004-07) for all three records as Bakker now has her name etched atop the UVU record books with 51 solo blocks, 435 total blocks and 384 block assists.

Bakker leads Utah Valley on the season in hitting (.350) and blocking (1.23), while Treanor paces the team in kills (2.94). Senior
McKenna Tait leads the way in both service aces (0.44) and digs (4.60). Her average of 0.44 aces per set is good enough to lead the WAC and rank her 21st nationally.

About BakersfieldThe Roadrunners are 11-14 overall and tied for third in the league standings with a 7-5 conference record. CSUB has split its last four matches with wins over Chicago State and Texas-Pan American and losses to UMKC and GCU. The 'Runners were picked to finish fifth in the conference this season.

Danika Youngblood leads CSUB and the WAC in kills on the season with a 3.73 per set average and Kelsee Sawyer is next at 3.16. Molly O'Hagan is tops on the team in blocks (0.89).

Thursday's meeting will mark the 13th all-time matchup between the Wolverines and 'Runners. UVU holds a 7-5 series advantage despite falling to Bakersfield in five sets in Orem earlier this season.

About Grand CanyonThe Antelopes will enter the weekend 17-9 on the season and 6-6 in conference play. GCU has won five straight with wins over New Mexico State, UMKC, UTPA, Weber State and CSUB. The 'Lopes will host Seattle U on Thursday evening prior to Saturday's meeting against the Wolverines.

Grand Canyon is led offensively by the one-two punch of Natalie Tardy and Shannon Dugan as they respectively average 3.61 and 3.50 kills per set. Gracie Dimond paces the team in blocks (1.16) while Mackenzie Phelps leads the way in digs (5.28).

UVU holds a 3-0 all-time series advantage over GCU after defeating the 'Lopes in four sets in Orem last month.

Up Next for the WolverinesUVU will return to Bakersfield, California, next week for the 2014 WAC Championships. The single-elimination tournament will run Thursday through Saturday (Nov. 20-22) at CSUB's Icardo Center and the winner will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Â
