OREM, Utah—The Utah Valley University cross country teams are traveling to Las Vegas Saturday to compete in the UNLV Invitational in Las Vegas.
"I like this meet because it's a little smaller, so we are able to try some different strategies," head coach Scott Houle said. "We will run hard and compete well, but we will get to see how some different strategies play out."
Other schools competing this weekend are Southern Utah University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Dixie State. The Utah Valley women's team bested SUU at the UC Riverside meet last weekend, however the men's team finished behind the T-birds.
This will be the second time this season that every cross country athlete will compete together.
"I'm excited to see these athletes run together," Houle said. "I am anxious to see the gap from one to seven, anyone could finish first this weekend."
The invitational will begin at 7:30 a.m. PDT with the men's 6K race at the Craig Ranch Regional Park in North Las Vegas.
