UTAH VALLEY TO TRAVEL TO NUGGET CLASSIC
OREM, Utah—Coming off a five-game winning streak, the Utah Valley University women's basketball team will travel to Reno, Nevada to participate in the Nugget Classic Tournament hosted by Nevada. The Wolverines will look to take on Nevada on Friday at 5 p.m. MT and Alabama on Saturday at 3 p.m. MT. Both games will be played in the Lawlor Events Center.

There will be no championship game in the tournament, as all games and opponents have been predetermined.

The Tournament is the start of four straight on the road for Utah Valley, including one neutral site against Alabama in the Nugget Classic. Following the tournament UVU will travel to the Pacific Northwest to see foes Eastern Washington and PAC-12 powerhouse Oregon.

"We are excited, this is just another chance for us to measure ourselves. Our focus is to just play the best Utah Valley basketball we know we can," head coach Cathy Nixon said.  "It will be good for us to play back to back nights on the road, which is something we need to prepare for, for the WAC Tournament not in our home arena, so we are looking forward to the weekend in Reno."

LAST TIME OUT
UVU enters the contest against Nevada on a five-game win streak, most notably, coming back from a deficit as high as 19 to defeat San Francisco 94-88 in overtime. The Wolverines scored 37 points in the fourth quarter to tie the contest with a buzzer-beater at 76 all.  Utah Valley was led by reigning WAC Freshman of the Year with a career-high 33 points. The improbable win marks the biggest come-from-behind victory in program history.

Utah Valley enters the tournament with the most wins of the four schools competing with five, while Alabama has four, Middle Tennessee has one, and Nevada sits at 0-4.

ABOUT NEVADA
Nevada leads the series 2-1 all-time, and is on a one-game win streak. The Wolf Pack and the Wolverines last met on Nov. 8, 2013 in Orem (Nevada 79, UVU 67).

Nevada dropped its last four contests, the last two being a part of the Bank of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Classic. Washington State defeated the Wolf Pack 70-57 before Loyola Marymount also walked away with a win 69-58. Nevada's senior forward Nyasha LeSure has scored in double digits in all four contests for the Wolf Pack thus far.

ROLLING WITH THE TIDE
On Saturday, Utah Valley will see SEC foe Alabama for their only neutral site contest of the regular season. This will be the inaugural meeting between the Crimson Tide and the Wolverines.

The Tide enters the tournament on a four-game win streak (4-0 overall), after defeating Georgia State 72-56 on Tuesday. Alabama leads the nation in blocks per game with 9.8. Other wins for Alabama include Alabama A&M (96-44), Appalachian State (93-59) and Mississippi Valley State (98-35).
