OREM, Utah – Utah Valley University women's basketball dropped its lone exhibition contest, 67-53, to Colorado State University-Pueblo on Saturday afternoon.
It was the first time UVU played in the new four-quarter format. NCAA women's basketball moved from two, 20-minute halves to four, 10-minute quarters beginning this season.
Rhaiah Spooner-Knight led the Wolverines with 14 points while
Mariah Seals added 12. Tuileisu Anderson had 22 to lead CSU-Pueblo with Molly Rohrer chipping in 15.
The Wolverines open the 2015-16 regular season next Friday, Nov. 13 at BYU in a game that tips at 3 p.m. at the Marriott Center in Provo. It's the opener of a double-header that has UVU's men playing BYU that same night at 7 p.m. Utah Valley's home opener will be the following day, at 3 p.m. MT, against Bethesda.
