OREM, Utah—
After ten days of rest, the Utah Valley University women's basketball team will travel to Nebraska to take on Omaha on Tuesday Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. MT in the Baxter Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley (6-6) is entering the competition on a five-game slump, following a six-game upswing. Most recently, Utah Valley fell to in-state foes Utah State (76-72) and Weber State (61-56) despite late comeback attempts.

Junior Rhaiah Spooner-Knight leads the Wolverines in scoring, averaging 13.8 points per game, with sophomore Mariah Seals right behind with 13.2 points per game. Rebecca MaWhinney leads on the boards with 5.3 rebounds per game, with Sam Loggins right behind with 4.3 boards per contest. The Wolverines are averaging 71.6 points per game as a team, and currently is set at second in the nation with 192 across 12 games.

The Wolverines have found just two wins on the road this season, against Mountain West foes Boise State and Nevada.

"We are excited to get back on the court, this week the team has been working hard on their finals and juggling practice, and we have an opportunity to make progress academically and athletically," head coach Cathy Nixon said. "This is a fun time of year, when we get to compete and the student-athletes don't have class. I am a huge supporter of academics, but it is exciting to see them dedicate their weeks off to playing basketball."

SERIES INFORMATION
This will be the second meeting between the Wolverines and the Mavericks (7-3), who came to Orem last season. Utah Valley leads the short series 1-0 finding a buzzer-beating 59-57 win on Dec. 29, 2014.
