Jaden Jackson recorded his eighth double digit scoring game of the season with 17 points and
Darrious Hamilton added 11 to lead the Utah Valley University men's basketball team in a 102-77 setback to UNC Wilmington Tuesday night in the Billy Minardi Classic at the KFC YUM! Center.

Utah Valley (5-7) got off to a quick start, taking a 15-8 lead with 15:29 to play in the first half. Two lead changes and one tie later, UNCW outscored UVU 28-14 to take a 55-36 advantage into the break. The Seahawks went up by as many as 38 points, 93-55, with 5:18 to play, but the Wolverines rallied with a 22-9 run over the final five minutes to cut the UNWC lead to 25 points, 102-77, at the final buzzer.

Jackson scored his 17 points on a 6-of-11 performance from the field. The senior guard knocked down 3-of-5 shots from long range and went a perfect 2-for-2 at the charity stripe. He also dished out a pair of assists and pulled down two rebounds.

Hamilton registered his fourth double digit scoring game of the season with 11 points. He connected on 4-of-6 shots from the floor.
Andrew Bastien and
Marcel Davis each tallied nine points.

Utah Valley, which had shot above 50 percent in its previous two games, recorded a 41.7 percent clip from the field against the Seahawks. UNCW hit 49.4 percent of its shots on the night.

UNCW committed only eight turnovers in the game compared to UVU's 13. The Seahawks scored 19 points off of UVU's 13 turnovers.

C.J. Bryce led UNCW with 17 points. Craig Ponder and Mark Matthews each tallied 15 points while two other Seahawks also recorded double figures.

Utah Valley will continue play at the Billy Minardi Classic on Wednesday against 15th-ranked Louisville. The game will tip-off at 5 p.m. MST/7 p.m. ET, and will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
