OREM, Utah—The Utah Valley University women's basketball team will travel to the California Central Valley to compete in their last regular season game of the year against CSU Bakersfield on March 7 at 2 p.m. MT.
 
The Wolverines  (11-17, 5-8) enter the contest following a series of wins at home against Kansas City 61-51 (OT) and Chicago State 68-53 Feb. 26-28.
 
Rhaiah Spooner-Knight leads Utah Valley with 13.2 points per game, with Mariah Seals right behind at 11.6 points per game. Karlee Norris leads on the boards with 7.1 rebounds per game.
 
"I think the most important thing is for us to focus on the process, and our team needs to play well, regardless of who we are playing. We would like some momentum going into the tournamnet, and this is the last dress rehearsal going into next Wednesday, and I know we can play Utah Valley basketball and be competitive," said head coach Cathy Nixon. 

Tyonna Outland leads the RoadRunners (21-7, 10-3) with 19.3 points per game. Bakersfield also has two more athletes averaging in the double digits, Alyssa Shannon with 10.5 and Batabe Zempare with 10.1 points per contest. Zempare also leads the 'Runners on the boards, averaging 10.5 per game.
 
Bakersfield is ranked second in the WAC, only behind New Mexico State. The Runners enter the contest on a six game winning streak, with their last victory against Seattle U 73-61 on Feb. 28.
 
Utah Valley is 3-7 all-time against CSUB, with their last contest being a Wolverine win 70-58 in Orem on Feb. 5.
 
Pending the outcome of the contest, the Wolverines will secure either a fourth or fifth seed at the WAC tournament at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas beginning Wednesday March 11.
