LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Utah Valley University remained perfect on the season following a 3-0 shutout of Saint Joseph's on Sunday at the Johann Memorial Classic at UNLV. The Wolverines were named champions of the four-team event, holding the tiebreaker (goal differential) over UNLV, which also went 2-0.

Alex Neff, the reigning WAC Defensive Player of the Week, was named the Most Outstanding Defensive Player in the tournament, with Lucas Cawley, Aaron Meyer and Nic Harguindeguy joining him on the All-Tournament Team.

On Sunday, Harguindeguy, Meyer and Paul Hoffmeister each scored goals for the Wolverines (4-0-0), who will now come home for the first time this season with a pair of matches next weekend.

"I could tell from the warm-up these guys were focused," UVU coach Greg Maas said. "This is a very very focused group. We've had two good weekends on the road. To get four wins on the road has been fantastic for our program but I can tell you that we're very excited to get back to Clyde Field in front of our 12th Wolverines."

Harguindeguy scored his first career goal in the 25th minute, redirecting a Meyer corner kick into the upper left 90. Meyer also notched his first career goal, scoring on a penalty kick to make it 2-0 in the 35th minute.

Hoffmeister's goal – his second on the year -- came in the 82nd minute after he collected a loose ball in the box and scored into the right corner from eight yards out.

The win is UVU's third shutout in four matches this season. It's also sophomore Derek Wilcox's third career shutout behind a defense that allowed just three shots overall, none of which were on frame. Utah Valley finished with 20 shots, 10 on goal.

The home opener is Friday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. against Bradley in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational. Mercer and WAC member UNLV are also competing in the invite at Clyde Field.
