OREM, Utah—The Utah Valley University men's basketball teams heads out on the road this week as the team travels to play UMKC Thursday night at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. CT.

Utah Valley enters Thursday's matchup against the Kangaroos with a 7-11 overall record. The team fell to 1-2 in WAC play with a 99-88 setback at Grand Canyon on Saturday night.

Konner Frey led the Wolverines with a 21-point performance in the loss at Grand Canyon Saturday night. The junior forward connected on 8-of-13 shots from the field, including a pair of shots from long range. He also pulled down eight rebounds and tallied one assist and a steal.
Marcel Davis registered 17 points with four assists and three boards, while
Jaden Jackson helped with 16 points, five assists and four rebounds.
Hayden Schenck had 13 points and
Ivory Young tallied 10 against GCU.

Frey leads Utah Valley in both scoring and rebounding at 14.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Jackson and Davis also average double figures at 14.3 points and 13.4 points a contest, respectively. Davis leads the team in assists at 4.5 a game, while
Andrew Bastien fronts the team in blocks at 1.9 a game.

UMKC heads into Thursday's game with an 8-11 overall record. The Kangaroos are 1-3 in WAC play after dropping a pair of road games at New Mexico State ant UTRGV last week. After opening WAC play with a win over Seattle U on Jan. 7, UMKC has dropped three straight.

UMKC dropped a pair of WAC road games last week. The 'Roos dropped a 65-64 decision at New Mexico State before falling 71-66 at UTRGV. Senior guard Martez Harrison led UMKC in the loss at New Mexico State, scoring a game-high 23 points. Darius Austin was also in double figures with 10 points. Austin also scored a team-high 15 points in the setback at UTRGV. LaVell Boyd helped with 13, while Harrison scored 11. Harrison leads the 'Roos in scoring this season at 15.4 points a contest. Boyd also averages double digits at 12.9 a game.

The Kangaroos are coached by Kareem Richardson, who is in his third season with the team. He holds a 32-50 record with the 'Roos.

Thursday's meeting with the 'Roos marks the 12th time that the two schools have met on the basketball hardwood. UVU holds an all-time 6-5 advantage over UMKC, but has dropped three straight to the 'Roos, including last season's two-game series.

Thursday's game will tip-off at 6 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast live on the WAC Digital Network at WACsports.com/live. The game will also be broadcast locally on ESPN 960 AM radio with Jim McCulloch handling the play-by-play duties. The Wolverines will also travel to play Chicago State on Saturday.
