CHICAGO, Ill.—The Utah Valley University men's basketball team continues WAC road play as the Wolverines travel to play Chicago State Saturday afternoon at the Jones Convocation Center. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT/1 p.m. MST.

Utah Valley enters Saturday's contest against the Cougars with an 8-11 overall record. The team improved to 2-2 in WAC play after picking up a 90-79 win at UMKC Thursday night at Municipal Auditorium.

Konner Frey recorded his second straight 21-point performance in the win over the Kangaroos.
Marcel Davis and
Jaden Jackson each scored 18 points each.
Ivory Young and
Dayon Goodman were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. UVU knocked down an impressive 12-of-22 shots from three-point range, marking the fourth time this season that the Wolverines have recorded 12 or more threes in a game this season. UVU also knocked down 32-of-36 shots from the free throw line—the most free throws made and attempted in a single game this season.

Frey continues to front the Wolverines in both scoring and rebounding at 15.2 points and 6.5 rebounds a game. Jackson and Davis also average double figures at 14.5 points and 13.7 points per game. Davis leads the team in assists at 4.5 a game, while
Andrew Bastien fronts the team in blocks at 1.9 a contest.

Chicago State heads into Saturday's game with a 4-18 overall record. The Cougars are 0-5 in WAC play after dropping a 90-65 decision to league-leader Grand Canyon at home on Thursday night. CSU has dropped nine straight games dating back to a 91-74 setback at Marquette on Dec. 21. Chicago State's last win was a 77-70 victory at home against Western Illinois on Dec. 19. All four of CSU's wins this season have come at home.

Freshman guard Fred Sims Jr. led Chicago State with 13 points and junior guard Elliott Cole added 10 in the setback to Grand Canyon Thursday night. Junior forward Tayvon Palmer tallied a game-high four blocks in the effort. Sims Jr. leads the team in scoring at 10.5 points per game, while sophomore guard Clemmye Owens V also averages double figures at 10.4 a contest. Palmer leads the team on the boards, averaging 8.3 rebounds a game. As a team, CSU is averaging 69.5 points a game while shooting 38.5 percent on the season.

Chicago State is coached by Tracy Dildy, who is in his sixth season with the team. He holds a 46-135 record with the Cougars.

Saturday's meeting with the Cougars marks the 17th time that the two schools have met on the basketball hardwood. UVU holds an all-time 12-4 advantage over CSU. The Wolverines had won four straight over the Cougars until dropping a 65-44 decision at CSU last season. UVU is 4-4 all-time against the Cougars in Chicago.

Saturday's game will tip-off at 1 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN 960 AM radio with Jim McCulloch handling the play-by-play duties.
