SEATTLE—The Utah Valley University women's soccer team gave up a goal in the 56th minute and couldn't recover in a 1-0 loss to Seattle U in the Wolverine's final non-conference match of the season.

With the setback, Utah Valley falls to 6-4-1 overall on the season, while Seattle U improves to 5-5-1 with the win. The two teams will meet again on Oct. 28 in a conference match at Clyde Field.

"I thought we were lacking a little bit of leadership out on the field tonight," Utah Valley head coach
Brent Anderson said. "We were putting in great individual effort. They didn't organize as a team very well and they put a lot of individual energy into the match. I think if they would have worked better as a team, we would have had a better result tonight."
Â
Isabelle Butterfield scored the game winner in the 56th minute after finding a corner kick in the box and shooting it in the back of the net for the score. Hope Fleckner and Karli White were credited with assists on the goal.
