OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University women's basketball cruised to a 109-38 victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday afternoon in the Wolverines' lone exhibition contest of the preseason.
 
UVU led by 21, 32-11, at the end of the first quarter and extended the lead to 63-22 by halftime. The Wolverines forced 30 turnovers in the contest, turning those into 53 points.
 
Five different players reached double figures for Utah Valley, who opens the 2016-17 regular season next Friday, Nov. 11 against Brigham Young.
 
The game against the neighboring Cougars tips at 7 p.m. MT in the UCCU Center. The Wolverines play three straight in-state games to being the season including Nov. 16 at home against Weber State and at Utah on Nov. 19.
