OREM, Utah—The Utah Valley University men's basketball team plays its final contest of a three-game road stretch on Saturday as the Wolverines travel to play CSU Bakersfield at the Icardo Center in Bakersfield, Calif. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. MST. The game will broadcast nationally on the American Sports Network, which can be found locally on Altitude Sports.

Utah Valley heads into Saturday's matchup against the Roadrunners with a 10-14 overall record. The Wolverines dropped a 98-74 decision at WAC leader New Mexico State on Saturday night to fall to 4-5 in WAC play. UVU currently holds the fifth spot on the league standings.

Marcel Davis scored a team-high 21 points to lead UVU in the setback to New Mexico State.
Konner Frey was also in double figures with 12 points.
Jaden Jackson and
Darrious Hamilton each recorded nine points, while
Ivory Young added eight.
Alex Carr scored a career-high seven points in the loss.

Jackson leads the Wolverines in scoring at 14.5 points per game. Frey and Davis are also averaging double figures at 14.3 and 14.1 points per game, respectively. Frey fronts the team on the boards at 6.8 rebounds a game. Davis leads the team in assists, dishing out 4.7 a contest, while
Andrew Bastien fronts the team in blocks at 1.6 a game.

CSU Bakersfield heads into Saturday's game with a 17-7 overall record. The Roadrunners have won nine of their last 11 contests, including three in a row dating back to their win over Utah Valley on Jan. 30 at the UCCU Center. CSUB picked up a pair of home wins last week, defeating UMKC 77-66 before downing Chicago State 71-48.

Senior center Aly Ahmed scored a game-high 20 points to lead CSU Bakersfield to a 71-48 win over Chicago State on Saturday night. Ahmed just missed out on a double-double with nine rebounds. Dedrick Basile helped with 15 in the win. Ahmed leads the team in scoring at 14.5 points a contest this season. Four other players average double figures, including Kevin Mays (12.2 ppg.), Damiyne Durham (12.1 ppg.), Basile (12.0 ppg.), and Jaylin Airington (10.3 ppg.). Mays fronts the team on the boards at 8.0 rebounds a game. CSUB ranks fourth in the WAC in scoring offense, averaging 72.6 points a game. The 'Runners lead the WAC in scoring defense, allowing just 64.2 points a game.

The Roadrunners are coached by Rod Barnes who is in his fifth season with the team. He holds a 60-70 record in his time at CSUB.

Saturday's matchup with the 'Runners marks the 15th time the two teams have met on the basketball hardwood. CSUB holds an all-time 8-6 advantage in the series. Bakersfield has won two straight over the Wolverines, including a 78-74 win over UVU on Jan. 30 in Orem. Utah Valley's last win in the series was a 74-69 win last season at the UCCU Center.
