OREM, Utah—The Utah Valley University men's basketball team returns home from a three-game road stretch to host Chicago State on Thursday night at the UCCU Center. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. MST.
 
Utah Valley enters Thursday's matchup against the Cougars with a 10-15 overall record. The Wolverines dropped a 91-69 decision at CSU Bakersfield on Saturday night to fall to 4-6 in WAC play. UVU currently holds the fifth spot in the league standings.
 
Jaden Jackson scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Wolverines in the setback to CSUB. Jackson scored his 20 points on a 7-of-11 clip from the field. He knocked down 6-of-7 shots at the free throw line. The performance is Jackson's fifth 20-plus point scoring effort of the season. Hayden Schenck and Marcel Davis were also in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Darrious Hamilton registered nine points with six rebounds, one assist and a block.

Jackson continues to front the Wolverines in scoring at 14.7 points per game. Frey and Davis are also averaging double figures at 14.0 points apiece. Frey fronts the team on the boards at 6.8 rebounds a game. Davis leads the team in assists, dishing out 4.8 a contest, while Andrew Bastien fronts the team in blocks at 1.5 a game.
 
Chicago State heads into Saturday's game with a 4-23 overall record. The Cougars are 0-10 in WAC play after dropping a 69-55 decision to league-leader New Mexico State at home on Saturday night. CSU has dropped 14 straight games dating back to a 91-74 setback at Marquette on Dec. 21. Chicago State's last win was a 77-70 victory at home against Western Illinois on Dec. 19. All four of CSU's wins this season have come at home.
 
Junior guard/forward Trayvon Palmer scored a team-high 13 points with a game-high three steals in Saturday's loss to New Mexico State. Freshman Fred Sims Jr. added 11 points and redshirt sophomore Clemmye Owens V finished with 10 points. Sims Jr. leads the team in scoring at 10.6 points a game. Owens V helps with 9.8 points a contest, while Palmer averages 9.7 points a game. Palmer leads the team on the boards at 7.8 rebounds a contest.
 
Saturday's meeting with the Cougars marks the 17th time that the two schools have met on the basketball hardwood. UVU holds an all-time 12-4 advantage over CSU. The Wolverines had won four straight over the Cougars until dropping a 65-44 decision at CSU last season. UVU is a perfect 8-0 all time at the UCCU Center against the Cougars.

The Cougars are coached by Tracy Dildy who is in his sixth season with the team. He holds a 46-139 record in his time at CSU.
