WOLVERINES BACK IN ILLINOIS FOR NIU ADIDAS INVITATIONAL
Utah Valley University heads to Illinois for the second weekend in a row, this time for the NIU Adidas Invitational where the 12th-ranked Wolverines face Loyola Chicago and host Northern Illinois. UVU, also ranked No. 8 by TopDrawerSoccer.com, will face Loyola on Friday at 3 p.m. MT/4 p.m. CT and NIU on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. MT/1:30 p.m. CT in DeKalb.

"Back-to-back road trips are never easy and Loyola Chicago and NIU are two solid programs that will test our resolve," said head coach Greg Maas. "This team, however, is very resilient and determined. We have had a great week of training, we're healthy, and we look forward to staying on the front foot in Chicago."

The Wolverines (3-0-0) defeated Evansville, 4-2, and Bradley, 1-0, last week in Peoria at the Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic at Bradley University. Skyler Milne scored three times over the weekend to earn Tournament MVP honors. Milne was also named the WAC Offensive Player of the Week and to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week and to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Team of the Week. On Wednesday Milne also won a fan vote in a poll on @NCAASoccer on Twitter to earn the #NCAASoccer Player of the Week.

Milne and Paul Hoffmeister each scored two goals apiece in UVU's win over Evansville. Milne, who also had an assist against Evansville, accounted for the game's only goal in Sunday's victory over Bradley in which Connor Salmon assisted on the game-winner and Elliott Rubio recorded his first career shutout. All four players were named to the All-Tournament Team.

UVU IN THE NATIONAL POLLS
Utah Valley finds itself higher that any UVU program has ever been in the national polls and is as high as No. 8 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 25 poll. The Wolverines are ranked No. 12 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll, No. 14 in the College Soccer News Top 30 and No. 17 in Soccer America's Top 25.

ABOUT THE RAMBLERS
Like UVU, Loyola Chicago also enters Friday's match at 3-0-0 and is among those receiving votes in the NSCAA Top 25. The Ramblers opened the regular season with a 3-2 win over Valparaiso in the season opener before back-to-back shutouts against Northern Kentucky, 1-0, and Albany, 3-0. Loyola is ranked No. 3 in the NSCAA West Region, one spot behind the Wolverines. The Ramblers won the only prior meeting between the teams, winning 1-0 on an own goal late in the match during the 2014 season.

ABOUT THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois is 0-2-2 entering the weekend and hosts Binghamton on Friday night. The Huskies and Wolverines will be meeting for the first time in Sunday's match. NIU drew with SIU Edwardsville to open the season before losses at Marquette (4-0) and Navy (2-0). Most recently, they played Maryland-Baltimore County to a 1-1 draw. This weekend marks the home opener for the Huskies.

COMING UP
Utah Valley returns home next week to host Gonzaga, which is ranked No. 21 this week in the TDS.com poll. That match will be Thursday, Sept. 15 at 5 p.m. MT at Clyde Field. Next week also marks UVU's Homecoming during its 75th anniversary celebration. The Wolverines host CSUN on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the annual homecoming game.
