UTAH VALLEY HOSTS WASHINGTON STATE, TRAVELS TO NORTH DAKOTA STATE
The Utah Valley University women's soccer team hosts PAC-12 foe Washington State on Thursday night in the team's homecoming match. The Wolverines will then head out on the road to take on North Dakota State on Sunday at noon (MT) in Fargo, N.D.
Utah Valley makes just its second appearance at Clyde Field this year where the team is a perfect 1-0-0 this season after defeating Wyoming at home last week. UVU holds an all-time 67-33-10 record. The team has lost just four games at home over the past three years.
The Wolverines enter the week after going 1-1-0 last week. The team defeated Wyoming, 2-1, in the team's home opener on Sept. 8 before dropping a 3-0 decision at Cal State Fullerton on Sept. 10. UVU's Breanna McCarter recorded a brace with two goals, including the game winner in the 2-1 victory over Wyoming. Hannah Bruce and Sydney Fitzpatrick earned assists in the win over the Cowgirls.

Breanna DeWaal leads both UVU and the WAC with 40 shots and 21 shots on goal this season. She also leads the Wolverines and ranks tied for fifth in the WAC with three goals through eight matches. McCarter has two goals, while Doriana Moul, Fitzpatrick, Ashlyn Farnes and Libby Weber have each recorded one goal this year. Brooklyn Nielsen leads UVU in the box with 19 saves and a .613 save percentage.
ABOUT WASHINGTON STATE
Washington State enters Thursday night's match with a 4-1-1 overall record. The team has won three-straight matches following its loss at Santa Clara on Aug. 27. Thursday's game marks just the second road match of the season for the Cougars, who are 0-1-0 on the road this year. Sophomore forward Morgan Weaver leads the team with three goals, while eight other Cougars have scored one goal each. Junior keeper Ella Dederick has been impressive in the box for WSU, recording five shutouts this season while giving up only two goals through six matches this season. WSU has outscored its opponents 11-2 this season. Washington State holds a 1-0-1 record against ranked opponents this season as the Cougars played No. 19 Minnesota to a 0-0 tie before knocking off 14th-ranked Nebraska, 1-0.

ABOUT NORTH DAKOTA STATE
North Dakota State enters the week with a 0-8-0 record. The team has played seven of its eight matches on the road. The game against Utah Valley on Sunday will mark just the second home match of the year for the Bison. The Bison dropped a 1-0 decision to in-state rival North Dakota on Aug. 18 in the team's lone home match of the season. NDSU has scored just one goal this season by the foot of junior midfielder Mailey O'Brien. The Bison have given up 24 goals this season. Junior keepers Julia Edelstein and sophomore Monica Polgar have split time in goal this season for the Bison. Edelstein leads the team with 35 saves.
SERIES HISTORY VS. NORTH DAKOTA STATE
Utah Valley and North Dakota State will meet on the pitch for the fifth time on Sunday afternoon. North Dakota State holds an all-time 3-1-0 advantage over the Wolverines. The two teams have met two times in Fargo with NDSU winning both matches. UVU's lone win in the series came on Oct. 18, 2010 in Orem with the Wolverines taking a 3-0 win.

Utah Valley holds an impressive 67-33-10 all time record at Clyde Field. The team has lost just four matches over the past three years on the home pitch. UVU went 5-2-1 last season. Last year's matches at home included a double overtime tie against in-state rival Utah and wins over Southern Utah, UNLV, Grand Canyon, Chicago State and UMKC. The Wolverines were unbeaten at home during the 2015 season with a 9-0-1 mark. UVU is 1-0-0 at home this season with a win over Wyoming.

Utah Valley leads the Western Athletic Conference with 128 shots this season. The 128 shots tie the team for 124th in the country in shots taken. UVU leads the WAC and ranks 55th nationally in shots per game (16.00) and ranks first in the WAC and 72nd in the country at 7.25 shots on goal per game. The Wolverines also front the WAC and rank 14th in the country with 56 corner kicks this season.
DEWAAL TIED FOR THIRD IN THEÂ NATION IN SHOTS ON GOAL
Utah Valley sophomore forward/midfielder Breanna DeWaal is tied for third in the nation with 21 shots on goal. She also ranks fifth nationally with 40 shots. She ranks 10th in the nation in shots on goal per game at 2.63 a match and ranks ninth in the country at 5.00 shots per game. DeWaal leads the WAC in each category.
ROAD TRIP!
Utah Valley spent nearly a month on the road before the team opens its home slate against Wyoming on Sept. 8. UVU opened the season with a pair of matches in Hawaii. The team then traveled to Las Vegas, Northridge, California, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. UVU opened the season with a 2-4-0 record over the month-long roadie.
