PHOENIX—The Utah Valley University women's soccer team picked up a point on the road with a 0-0 double-overtime tie against Grand Canyon on Sunday afternoon at GCU Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

Utah Valley (4-12-2, 3-3-1) and Grand Canyon (6-12-1, 3-3-1) remain tied for fifth place in the WAC standings with 10 points. The Wolverines have one game remaining on the regular season schedule – a matchup with Seattle U at Clyde Field on Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m (MT).
"It was an evenly contested match," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We did well in our possession and just hit a bit of a road block in the attacking third. We're still happy to come away with a result and get a point on the road. (Sarah) Davis came up with a couple of massive saves for us today and was happy to come away with a shutout. We'll continue to prepare ourselves for our match against Seattle next week and then the WAC tournament on our pitch."

Sarah Davis secured her third shutout in UVU's last five matches as she had a season-high 11 saves without giving up a goal. Davis played all 110 minutes in the box for the Wolverines.

GCU just out-shot Utah Valley, 19-17, including a 12-5 advantage on frame. Each team had four corner kicks.
Sara Callister led the Wolverines with a team-high four shots, including one on goal.

Breanna McCarter,
Sadie Brockbank, and
Amber Tripp each had two apiece. Â

UVU will now wrap up regular season play against WAC rival Seattle U on Saturday, Oct. 27 in a rematch of last year's WAC Tournament championship match, which UVU won on penalty kicks. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The Wolverines will then host the WAC Tournament, Oct. 31, Nov. 2, 4 at Clyde Field.
