Â
Utah Valley (4-13-2, 3-4-1) now plays host to the WAC Tournament, Oct. 31, Nov. 2, and Nov. 4 at Clyde Field. The Wolverines have earned the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seeded Grand Canyon on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. (MT).
Â
"I thought it was a well played match," said head coach
Chris Lemay. "Seattle is organized. I thought we had good moments. We're hitting a roadblock once we get into the final third and not creating enough good chances. I thought we had more urgency in the final 10 minutes of the game and created some chances. We have to play a full 90 with the urgency to try and find chances because they don't come easy."
Â
Seattle U scored the game winner in the 23rd minute after Leahi Manthei received a pass from Jessie Ray in front of the box and fired a shot into the net to give the Redhawks a 1-0 advantage. Holly Rothering was also credited with an assist on the score.
Â
Manthei secured her brace with a second goal in the 84th minute after SU keeper Ariana Romero sent a ball past centerfield and to the foot of Sebelle Rojas, who then found Manthei for the score to give SU a 2-0 lead.
Â
SU out-shot Utah Valley 13-8 on the night, including a 7-2 advantage on frame.
Sadie Brockbank led the Wolverines with three shots, including one on goal.
Breanna McCarter had two shots. The Wolverines had five corner kicks to Seattle's two.

Sarah Davis and
Brooklyn Nielsen each played half in the box for the Wolverines. Davis had two saves while Nielsen had three.
