OREM, Utah – The Utah Valley University women's basketball team is set to play its lone preseason exhibition contest on Saturday, Nov. 3 against Adams State. The contest will begin at 6 p.m. MT in Lockhart Arena and admission to the event is free.
 
The Wolverines return two starters from last year's team in juniors Jordan Holland and Gabrielle Leos. Holland is the returning scorer and rebounder at 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. The 2018-19 roster consists of five juniors, four sophomores and six freshmen, and is without any seniors.
 
Head coach Cathy Nixon is entering her 24th season with the club and is the longest-tenured coach in the Western Athletic Conference and among the longest in the nation.
 
UVU opens the regular season next Tuesday with an 11 a.m. MT start against UC Santa Barbara in the UCCU Center. The Wolverines have a busy week with home contests against the University of La Verne (Thursday) and Portland (Saturday) also on the slate.
