- Freshman Eve Braslis leads the team with averages of 14.3 points and 8.0 rebounds and is shooting 61.5 percent from the field.

- Cortez scored a career-high 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting -- including 3-for-3 from beyond the arc -- in last Saturday's 29-point win over Ottawa. On Monday, Cortez was named the WAC Player of the Week.Â

Arizona Christian is off to a 5-1 start to its season, with Wednesday's contest serving as an exhibition for the Firestorm. ACU -- ranked No. 22 in the NAIA Division I poll -- is a member of the Golden State Athletic Conference. Senior Courtney Christmas leads all of NAIA DI with 27.8 points per game and also averages 7.5 rebounds per contest. Makayla Enders is scoring 16.8 points and grabbing 7.8 boards for an ACU team that is averaging 86.5 points per game.Â
THE WEEK THAT WAS
UVU improved to 3-1 with a decisive 90-61 victory over Ottawa University (Arizona). The Wolverines got a career-high 19 from Alexis Cortez as well as 15 from Jordan Holland and 14 points from Eve Braslis. It was the only game of the week for UVU. The Wolverines hit a torrid 8-of-11 from three in the win, with Cortez going 3-for-3 and Madison Grange hitting both of her attempts.Â

The Wolverines will wrap up their six-game, season-opening homestand next Thursday, Nov. 29 at 11 a.m. against in-state foe BYU. The game will be played in Lockhart Arena.Â
