SAN DIEGO—San Diego scored four second half goals to secure a 4-1 win over Utah Valley on Friday afternoon at Torero Stadium in San Diego, California.

With the loss, Utah Valley falls to 0-3-1 on the season. San Diego improves to 2-2-1 with the victory.

Sara Callister got the Wolverines on the scoreboard in the 25th minute as she sprinted down the right side of the field and fired a shot off the crossbar and into the back of the net. The goal is Callister's first score of the season and seventh of her career. It marks her first goal since the 2016 season as she sat out the 2017 campaign with an injury.

San Diego received a penalty kick after a called foul in the box in the 51st minute. UVU's
Brooklyn Nielsen saved the Madison Louderback PK attempt but could not stop the rebound as Louderback scored her first goal of the season to even the score, 1-1.

The Toreros scored the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute after USD's Summer Mason sent a ball into the box from the left side that was headed into the back of the net by Milan Moses. The score gave the Toreros a 2-1 advantage with 20 minutes remaining. San Diego scored again in the 77th minute as Michaela Foster put in a corner kick just over the out-stretched hand of UVU's Nielsen to put the Toreros up 3-1. USD's Mason scored in the 85th minute to secure the 4-1 victory for the Toreros.

Utah Valley was outshot 18-8 on the day.
Breanna McCarter led the Wolverines with a team-high three shots, including one on goal. Five other Wolverines each tallied one shot. Nielsen played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting six saves on 16 faced shots.

Utah Valley will continue road play in the Golden State on Sunday as the team travels to take on Cal Poly. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. (MT).
