Conner Toolson scored a game-high 17 points and
Jake Toolson added 16 to lead Utah Valley to an 82-61 win over UT Rio Grande Valley on Thursday night at the UCCU Center. The win pushes the Wolverines' home win streak to 22 games, which is the second-longest active home win streak in the nation.

With the win, Utah Valley improves to 13-6 overall and 2-2 in WAC play. UTRGV falls to 9-11 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Leading 15-10 with 13:05 remaining in the first half, Utah Valley scored 14 unanswered points to jump out to a 29-10 lead advantage with 8:13 remaining. The 14 unanswered points were part of a 21-2 run over a six-minute span that included 10 points from
Jake Toolson. UTRGV countered with a 10-3 run over their own over the next three minutes to cut the UVU lead to 12 points, 32-20, with five minutes to go. The Wolverines outscored the Vaqueros 11-7 over the final five minutes to take a 43-27 lead into the break.

Baylee Steele scored six of UVU's 11 points on an 11-1 run over a 3:19 span to extend its lead to 24 points, 62-38, with 12:37 to play. The two teams then played even the rest of the way as the Wolverines secured the 82-61 victory.
Richard Harward led the Wolverine defense with a career-high five blocks as Utah Valley held the Vaqueros to just 34.5 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Connor Toolson scored 17 points on a 6-of-11 mark from the field, including three shots from long range. He also tallied four steals with three assists.
Baylee Steele and
TJ Washington were also in double figures with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Steele had four rebounds while Washington dished out an impressive eight assists.
Jake Toolson tallied his 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field, including a perfect 2-of-2 clip from long range. He also knocked down a perfect 6-of-6 free throws, extending his streak of consecutive made free throws to 39. The junior guard also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds, dished out two assists and picked up one steal.

The Wolverines shot 56.8 percent from the field, including 52.6 percent from deep. UVU won the battle on the boards, outrebounding UT Rio Grande Valley 36-31, leading to a 23-5 edge in fastbreak points.
