Women's soccer announces 2019 signing class

—Utah Valley University women's soccer head coach Chris Lemay has announced his program's 2019 signing class. The Wolverines signed 11 players on Wednesday who will join the team for the 2020 season.
 
Signing with the Wolverines are Grace Beeston (Lehi, Utah), Annalise Brunson (Sugar City, Idaho), Paige Easter (Lehi, Utah), Breanna Eves (Springville, Utah), Hallie Fernandez (Vineyard, Utah), London Granata (Lehi, Utah), Lily Haskins (Provo, Utah), Makiah Herrin (Spanish Fork, Utah), Elle Kimball (Olathe, Kansas), London Miller (Providence, Utah), and Nicole Ray (Alpine, Utah).
 
"It's obviously a big class and we feel like we've strengthened all of our lines," said Utah Valley had coach Chris Lemay. "We've made an impact at each position. We've brought in players to add depth and to create an even more competitive environment on our team. This class is explosive, and it includes players with good soccer IQ and great technical ability that will help us be more dangerous. Our program continues to get better and the signing classes we bring in continue to get stronger and stronger."
 
Beeston is a three-year letterwinner from at Skyridge High School where she helped lead her team to the state tournament. She also earned academic all-state honors while at SHS. Beeston helped her club team, Utah Celtic FC, to regional titles in both 2017 and 2019. The 5-foot-8 defender helped Celtic FC to a semifinal appearance and a third-place finish at nationals this past season. Beeston plans to study mechanical engineering at UVU. Beeston will join the Wolverines this spring.
 
Brunson, a 5-foot-5 forward, prepped at Madison High School in Rexburg, Idaho. Brunson recorded 143 career goals and 54 assists during her career at MHS, helping the team to four district titles and four appearances at the state tournament. Brunson was named the High Country Conference Player of the Year and the SJ Sports Stars Madison Soccer Player of the Year this past season. She has earned numerous All-State, All-District, and All-Area accolades throughout her high school career. She most recently played for club teams Celtic Premiere 01 and Celtic East.
 
Easter is a 5-foot-7 midfielder and center back from Skyridge High School in Lehi, Utah. Easter received all-state honors this past season and was named the Region 8 Midfield MVP. She also earned Region 8 first team all-region honors. Easter helped her team to the second round of the 6A state tournament this past season. She played club soccer for the Utah Storm and Utah Celtic FC. Easter will enroll at UVU this spring and join the Wolverines.
 
Eves prepped at Springville High School where she helped her team to an undefeated 14-0 season in region play to win the Region 8 5A title this past season. The 5-foot-8 midfielder earned Region 8 Midfield MVP and first-team all-state honors after recording 14 goals and two assists. Eves played club soccer for Utah Celtic FC. Eves will join the Wolverines this spring.
 
Fernandez prepped at Mountain View High School in Orem. The 5-foot-6 forward earned both first team all-region and academic all-region honors while at MVHS. She helped MVHS to the 5A state semifinals this past season. Fernandez played on the US Soccer La Roca Development Academy team where she was the top scorer. She also helped lead Utah Celtic FC to the national semifinals, a national league title, far-west region championships (2017, 2019), and state cup championships in both 2016 and 2017.
 
Granata is a 5-foot-8 goalkeeper from Skyridge High School in Lehi, Utah. She helped SHS to three quarterfinal appearances in 2016, 2017, and 2018. Granata earned 2017 and 2018 all-state honors. She is a member of Utah Celtic FC.
 
Haskins, a 5-foot-5 forward, prepped at Timpview High School in Provo, Utah. The four-year starter led THS to a state title in 2016, state semifinal appearances in both 2017 and 2018, and a state quarterfinal appearance this past season. She earned first team all-state honors in 2017, 2018, and 2019. She was named the Region MVP during both her junior and senior seasons. She will be joining her sister, Katie, who is currently a member of the UVU soccer team.
 
Herrin is a 5-foot-7 goalkeeper from Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah. Herrin recorded 10 shutouts this past season in the box for the Golden Eagles, which were the most in her region. She helped MMHS to the state semifinals in 2019. She earned numerous individual accolades, including All-Region MVP honors and multiple all-state and all-region awards. Herrin most recently played club soccer for the Utah Storm.
 
Kimball, a 5-foot-9 forward from Olathe, Kansas, prepped at both Saint Thomas Aquinas High School and Olathe West High School. As a freshman, she led STAHS in assists and was the third leading goal scorer on the nationally ranked team. She helped the Saints to a runner-up finish at the 2017 Kansas state tournament. Kimball played club soccer for Sporting Blue Valley DA, which was the seventh-ranked team in the nation. She currently plays for KC Athletics ECNL.
 
Miller played high school soccer at Ridgeline High School in Millville, Utah. The 5-foot-4 forward was a four-year varsity starter for the Riverhawks. She led the team in scoring with 36 goals and 17 assists during her senior season. Earned multiple honors, including first team all-state, all-valley, team MVP, and Rookie of the Year awards. She helped RHS to a 2019 region championship and a state championship game appearance. Miller played club soccer for La Roca FC for eight years.
 
Ray prepped at Lone Peak High School in Alpine, Utah. The 5-foot-4 midfielder led Knights to the 6A Utah State title in 2018, earning 6A MVP honors. She finished the 2018 championship season with 10 goals and seven assists. Ray played club soccer for La Roca (2012-16), Utah Celtic FC (2017-18), and the La Roca Development Academy this past year.
