KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Utah Valley dropped a tight matchup against the Kansas City Roos in four sets on Thursday night, 1-3 (17-25, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25), with only a 13 point difference among the teams contest.
Kazna Tarawhiti led the net for the Wolverines with her 20th double-digit kill game with 14 kills for a .257 hitting percentage on the night.
Makaila Jarema tied a personal high of eight blocks and despite dropping the contest, Utah Valley hit a .233 attack percentage to UMKC's .133 attack average.
Bailey Christensen and
Kaili Downs both tallied seven kills while
Seren Merrill led both teams with 16 digs in the backrow. As a team, UVU out-blocked UMKC 10-7 and posted 45 kills.
Utah Valley will remain middle of the pack in conference standings, holding a No. 5 spot behind NMSU, GCU, UMKC and UTRGV.
UVU looks to take on Chicago State on Saturday, November 9 in the Windy City at 10am MT, followed by the final leg of regular-season competition at Seattle U on November 14 and Cal Baptist, November 16.
