- Utah Valley University will play its final home game of the 2018-19 regular season when the Wolverines host California Baptist on Saturday at 3 p.m. MT in Lockhart Arena.Â
- The Wolverines (14-12, 8-5) enter Saturday's game in fourth place in the WAC standings, one game back of CBU. The Lancers (16-10 overall) are currently in second at 9-4 with UT Rio Grande Valley in third at 9-5. New Mexico State, winners of 12 straight, has clinched the regular season title. Third place UTRGV hosts fifth place Kansas City and CSU Bakersfield (currently in sixth) hosts Grand Canyon in other key WAC matchups on Saturday.Â
- Jordan Holland is averaging 13.8 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Wolverines and has scored in double figures in 17 straight games. Eve Braslis is scoring 10.5 points and grabbing and 6.1 rebounds, Alexis Cortez is scoring 10.0 per game and Maria Carvalho is averaging 7.2 points and 4.3 assists per game.Â
- California Baptist won the first meeting between the teams on Jan. 31 in Riverside. It was the first contest between the two programs as CBU is in its first season transitioning from NCAA Division II to DI. The Lancers outscored the Wolverines 44-20 in the second half to win 83-54. California Baptist took 44 attempts from three in the game, making 16.Â

Utah Valley University dropped a Saturday afternoon tilt at the University of Missouri Kansas City, 97-64, in the Swinney Recreation Center. Eve Braslis finished with 12 points while Alexis Cortez and Jordan Holland each scored 11. Holland also grabbed 10 rebounds to notch a double-double, but UVU was out-rebounded 53-29. Leilah Vigil had a monster game on the glass with 21 rebounds while also scoring 14 points for UMKC. The Kangaroos also got a game-high 25 from Emily Ivory including seven made 3-pointers, and Ericka Mattingly finished with 21 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds.
ABOUT THE LANCERS
California Baptist enters Saturday with seven consecutive wins after Thursday's 86-64 victory at Seattle U. The streak began with the Jan. 31 win over Utah Valley and CBU has also won 10 of its last 11 contests. The Lancers boast the league's top scoring offense at 80.3 points per game in league play. CBU also leads the WAC in team rebounding, team field goal percentage and assists per game all while turning it over fewer than any other team in the conference.
