OREM—Utah Valley University head men's golf coach
Chris Curran announced the signing of Noah Koshi to a national letter of intent to play golf for the Wolverines next season.
Â
"Noah is a very decorated junior golfer," said Curran. "He has a passion for the game that is unmatched, and we can't wait to get him on campus."
Â
Koshi is a senior at Hawaii Baptist Academy where he led his team to the 2019 Hawaii State title for the first time in HBA history. Individually, he finished in a tie for eighth at the Waikoloa Kings Course. He earned Interscholastic League of Honolulu First Team All Star honors. He also finished second at the Hawaii State Championship in 2018.
Â
The Hawaii native was named the 2019 Hawaii State Junior Golf Association Player of the Year after recording four top-3 finishes, including an individual title at the HSJGA Match Play Championship. He also earned HSJGA Player of the Year honors in 2018 after picking up four individual titles.
Â
Koshi qualified and finished tied for the top spot in the United States Golf Association junior amateur qualifying spot, shooting a 5-under-par 66 at the Wailea Blue Course, winning in a playoff for the lone qualifying spot on the first hole as he drained a 20-foot putt. He also qualified for the 2019 HTA Pro-Junior Challenge at the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club, finishing second at the event after falling in the playoff.
Â
Koshi will join the Wolverines for the 2021-22 season.
