Six Utah Valley Golfers Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

OREM — Six Utah Valley golfers have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, recognizing their combined achievements in competition and in the classroom.

The Utah Valley women's golf team placed five student-athletes on the Academic All-District® Team, including Alyssa Butterfus, Chloe Jang, Maria Ortiz, Rylie Rodriguez, and Valentina Zuleta. Men's golfer Isaiah Ellis also earned Academic All-District® recognition.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and own a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher while meeting competition requirements within their respective sport.

Jang, a Public Health major with a 3.97 GPA, earned the honor following a standout junior campaign in which she garnered All-WAC Second Team honors. She led the Wolverines with a 75.5 scoring average over 32 rounds and recorded five top-10 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the West Texas Classic and fourth-place finishes at both the Utah Fall Intercollegiate and Kalispel Invitational.

Zuleta, an Accounting major with a 3.98 GPA, competed in 30 rounds during her senior season and helped lead Utah Valley throughout the year. She recorded a 77.7 scoring average and posted a pair of top-20 finishes, including a 12th-place showing at the Kalispel Invitational.

Rodriguez, a Marketing major with a 3.95 GPA, earned Academic All-District honors after competing in 26 rounds during her senior season with the Wolverines. She recorded a 79.2 scoring average and turned in a pair of top-15 finishes during the year, including a tie for 15th at both the Wolverine Invitational and The Clash at Boulder Creek.

Ortiz, a Marketing major with a 3.92 GPA, competed in 21 rounds and registered a 78.5 scoring average. The junior posted an impressive 11th-place finish at the 2026 WAC Championship and added top-40 finishes at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, West Texas Classic, and Soboba Spring Classic.

Butterfus, an English major who owns a perfect 4.0 GPA, played in 26 rounds for Utah Valley and finished the season with a 78.5 scoring average. Her season was highlighted by an eighth-place finish at the Utah Fall Intercollegiate and a 27th-place showing at the Soboba Spring Classic.

On the men's side, Ellis, a Business & Analysis major with a 3.73 GPA, earned CSC Academic All-District honors after competing in nine tournaments for the Wolverines during the 2025-26 season. The junior played 27 rounds and posted a 76.1 scoring average, highlighted by a ninth-place finish at the WAC Championship.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® teams will be announced in July.
