SALT LAKE CITY—
Evan Cole scored a career-high 31 points to go along with 10 rebounds to lead Utah Valley in a 75-67 road loss at Utah on Tuesday evening at the Jon M. Hunstman Center in Salt Lake City.
Utah held a 13-12 lead through eight minutes of play before the
Colby Leifson knocked down a pair of threes to spark a 10-4 UVU run to give the Wolverines a 22-17 advantage with 8:33 to remaining in the first half. Utah responded right back with a 13-2 run over the next three minutes to take 30-24 advantage with five minutes left on the clock. The two teams played even the rest of the way as Utah held on to a six-point, 41-35, lead at the break.

The Utes outscored UVU 11-2 to open the second half as the team build a 15-point 52-37 lead with 15:24 remaining. The Wolverines battled back to outscore Utah 16-7 over a seven-minute span to cut the Utah lead to just six points, 63-57, with 6:39 to play. Cole scored a bucket while being fouled and knocked down the free throw to spark a 7-0 run as UVU took the lead, 68-67, with 3:10 to play. Utah then outscored UVU 7-0 the rest of the way to secure the 75-67 win.

The 31-point, 10-rebound performance is Cole's first double-double of the season. Cole knocked down 12 of 16 shots from the field and knocked down 6 of 8 free throws for his career-high 31 points. He also tallied a pair blocks in his 38 minutes of action.

Trey Woodbury was in double figures with 10 points and matched a career high with eight assists. He also had a block and a steal.
Fardaws Aimaq pulled down nine rebounds with seven points and a block. Leifson had six points and
Tim Fuller tallied five.

As a team, Utah Valley shot 51 percent from the field compared to Utah's 47.5 percent clip. The Wolverines, which were one of the top 10 teams in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio, had a season-high 20 turnovers, which resulted in 26 Utah points.

Utah Valley returns home to the UCCU Center to face regional rival Idaho State on Saturday, Dec. 19. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
