OPENING TIP
Utah Valley University wraps up its two-game homestand on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Lockhart Arena against New Mexico State. The Wolverines (9-13, 6-4) got back in the win column on Thursday night with a 61-54 victory over the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Jordan Holland led four UVU players in double figures with 18 points and has reached double digits in eight straight games, averaging 16.1 points during that time.
Eve Braslis had a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, one shy of her career high.
Maria Carvalho finished with 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, and
Josie Williams added 10 points and seven rebounds.
The game was tied a 44 after three quarters before Utah Valley out-scored the Vaqueros 17-10 in the fourth to earn a sweep of the regular season series. Utah Valley is currently tied with CSU Bakersfield at 6-4 in conference play and in third place behind Grand Canyon and Kansas City.
In the earlier meeting this season between UVU and NM State, the Wolverines earned a 58-54 win and snapped a 23-game home winning streak for the Aggies in WAC play. It also ended an 11-game losing streak in the all-time series. Gia Pack had 25 points and 10 rebounds for New Mexico State but the Wolverines limited the Aggies to just 2-for-13 shooting in the fourth quarter.

ABOUT THE AGGIES
New Mexico State (8-16) currently sits in a tie for sixth at 5-6 in WAC play following a 67-57 loss at Seattle U on Thursday night. The Aggies have lost two straight and four of five overall. NM State is currently without Pack due to injury. She leads NM State and the WAC with an average of 18.4 points per game and is second in the conference at 9.4 rebounds per contest. The Aggies own a 13-3 edge in the all-time series between the teams.Â
COMING UP
The Wolverines travel to CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 20) and Grand Canyon (Feb. 22) next week to begin a stretch of four of the final five WAC games on the road.Â
