Senior Night vs CBU on Wednesday at 6pm

OPENING TIP
Utah Valley University will play the final home game of its Western Athletic Conference schedule on Wednesday against California Baptist. Tip is set for 6 p.m. MT in Lockhart Arena and is Senior Night for Alexis Cortez, Keana Delos Santos and Jordan Holland.

The Wolverines (11-14, 8-5) are currently in third place, two games behind league-leaders Kansas City and Grand Canyon and one game in front of CSU Bakersfield. UVU swept its road trip through Bakersfield and Phoenix last week, getting a pair of wins where the Wolverines have never won before.

Against the Roadrunners, the Wolverines won in overtime behind a 17-point effort from Holland. She scored seven points in the OT and keyed an 11-0 run during the extra frame en route to a 63-56 win. Holland followed that up with 20 points, matching her season high, in a 64-54 win at GCU two days later. She was named the WAC Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 18.5 points per game on the road trip.

In Utah Valley's prior match up against California Baptist, the Lancers used a fourth-quarter run to pull away and win by 13, 80-67. Holland had 20 points in that game as well, but CBU got hot late, hitting its last seven attempts from the field and outscoring UVU by 11 in the fourth.

The Lancers' Ane Olaeta led all scorers with 23 and was 9-for-10 from the field while Lexy Ram scored 22. CBU finished 15-for-37 from three in the game.

ABOUT THE LANCERS
California Baptist split two games last week, falling just short of a win at Kansas City, 83-81, before routing Chicago State, 103-68. The Lancers, who have eclipsed the 100-point mark twice in the last three games, lead the conference with an average of 75.0 points per game. They've also taken 846 3-pointers, which is over 200 more than Kansas City's 611 attempts. CBU has the third most 3-point makes (272) and attempts among all Division I programs. UVU is seeking its first win over California Baptist, having dropped the first three games since the Lancers made the jump to DI last year.

COMING UP
The Wolverines will finish up WAC play on the road next week with games at Kansas City (March 5) and Chicago State (March 7). The WAC Tournament begins March 11 in Las Vegas.
