GREELEY, Colo. – Utah Valley University saw its four-game win streak snapped in a 12-2 loss to Omaha on Saturday in a tournament at Northern Colorado.
Abby Doughty homered twice to account for both runs for the Wolverines (12-5). After ending Friday's 9-0 win over Northern Iowa with a three-run blast, Doughty has hit home runs in three consecutive at-bats.
A 3-2 games after four innings, the Mavs (11-11) pulled away with nine runs in the fifth to end the game via run rule. Omaha finished with 14 hits including a 4-for-4 game from Jamie White, who doubled twice and drove in three. Four different players had multi-hit games for Omaha.
Jade Miller was 2-for-3 for Utah Valley, as she and Doughty accounted for four of the team's six hits.
The Wolverines will play later Saturday against host Northern Colorado in the fourth of five games this weekend.
