ST. GEORGE, Utah – Friday's third and final round of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational has been canceled due to inclement weather around Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George. The tournament has now officially been shortened to a two-round event and UVU has posted a 10th-place finish out of 15 teams after carding a 46-over-par 622 on Thursday.

The Wolverines recorded scores of 317 and 305 on Thursday to finish in 10th place. By taking 10th, UVU finished ahead of Idaho State (627), Montana (638), Eastern Washington (639), CSU Bakersfield (649), and WAC and in-state foe Dixie State (653).

Second-year freshman
Victoria Estrada led the way for UVU by tying for 32nd at the weather-shortened tournament with a 10-over-par 154 (76-78). Fellow second-year freshman
Lauren Taylor finished one shot back to tie for 35th with an 11-over 155 (78-77).Â

Caylyn Ponich and
Anna Lesa respectively tied for 42nd and 47th at 12-over (81-75—156) and 13-over (82-75—157). Junior
Bailey Henley (83-79—162) and freshman
Macy Robertson (81-81—162), who is played the event as an individual, both tied for 65th to round out UVU's competitors at the tournament. Henley was one of five players to record an eagle on Thursday, as she posted an eagle on the par-4 14th hole during the tournament's opening round.

South Dakota State won the in-state event that was hosted by Southern Utah with a 2-over-par 578 after carding rounds of 286 and 292 on Thursday. Oral Roberts was next with a 24-over 600, while WAC foe California Baptist took third with a +26 (602).

After carding an impressive opening-round 8-under-par 64 and a 5-under-par 67 in round two, South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano claimed individual medalist honors with a 13-under-par 131.

The Wolverines will remain in St. George this weekend to take part at the BYU Spring Classic on Monday and Tuesday, March 15-16. The 54-hole event will be contested at Sand Hollow Resort.Â
