OREM — In the first home games in almost two years,
Peyton Prigge ripped a walk-off double to help Utah Valley earn a split in its double header with Idaho State on Sunday. The Wolverines fell 5-3 in game one, but a pair of home runs brought UVU back from behind before Prigge's double finished off the comeback, 7-6 in the twin bill. With the split, UVU now sits at 7-10 on the year and the Bengals are now 5-6 on the season.
In the rematch, UVU fell behind early, giving up three runs in the first two innings. In the bottom of the third, with the Wolverines trailing 3-0,
Rien Milliken ripped a 1-2 pitch off the left-field wall, clearing the bases to score
Basia Query and
Emery Nielson to cut the deficit to 3-2.

After a few impressive outs by
Linnah Rebolledo and Nielson to get UVU through the top half of the fourth frame, Prigge drove a 1-0 pitch over the right-field wall for her second homer of the season, tying the game up at 3-3.

Idaho State retook the lead with an RBI single in the top of the fifth. With two outs in the bottom of the frame, Millikin laced a 2-2 pitch over the left-field wall for second home run of the season to tie the game back up at 4-4.

After a 1-2-3 inning by
Brooke Carter, Prigge led off with a single and Betancur and Karliegh Olsen drew walks to load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Jordan Freas drove home a run and
Siena Sandoval pinch hit and knocked in another run to give the Wolverines a 6-4 lead going into the final inning.

After a quick flyout, the Bengals knocked a single through to the left side and followed that up with a bomb over the left-field wall to tie the game back up at 6-6. Idaho State threatened to take the lead with another single but
Devyn Cretz came in and got the next two batters out to maintain the 6-6 tie.

Rebolledo start off the bottom of the seventh with a double to left field but was picked off trying to steal third. Milliken took a walk and advanced to second with a single by
Kyla Hardy. Prigge stepped up to the plate and, with an 0-1 count, hit a laser to the left center gap to score pinch-runner
Jaeden Barajas for the walk-off win.

Prigge finished the game batting 3-for-4 with two RBIs on a homer and a double to go along with two runs. Milliken hit 2-for-3 with three RBIs on a homer and a double to go along with a run scored. The Wolverines finished with nine hits, including a pair of home runs and three doubles.

In the first game, the Wolverines fell behind 1-0 in the third before Hardy ripped an RBI double down the third-base line to jump start a three-run fourth inning. Prigge knocked in Rebolledo and
Laynee Betancur singled in Hardy to give UVU a 3-1 lead.

After Idaho State cut the lead down to 3-2 in the top of the fifth, the Bengals scored three runs in the top of the sixth to secure the 5-3 win. The Wolverines finished with five hits as Hardy led UVU, finishing 1-for-2 with the RBI double and a run scored. Prigge also went 1-for-2 with an RBI and Betancur went 1-for-three with the other RBI. Query and Rebolledo scored the other two runs.

Utah Valley now welcomes in-state rival Weber State to Wolverine Softball Field on Tuesday, March 16, for a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. MT.
