Utah Valley hosts WAC rival Seattle U this week at Clyde Field

UTAH VALLEY HOSTS WAC RIVAL SEATTLE U THIS WEEK AT CLYDE FIELD
Utah Valley continues WAC play this week at home as the team hosts rival Seattle U on Thursday and Saturday at Clyde Field. Kickoff for Thursday's match is set for 4 p.m., while Saturday's game will begin at noon.

The Wolverines head into Thursday's match against the Redhawks after picking up a 3-2 win at Dixie State in an Old Hammer Rivalry game on Saturday. London Miller recorded a brace with a goal in each half, including the game winner to lead UVU to the win. Sydney Bushman also added a goal in the win. Isabel Jones-Dawe had three saves in the box.

Through 13 matches this season, Brockbank and Carter share the scoring lead the Wolverines with four goals each. Brockbank leads the team with 51 shots, including a team-best 32 on frame. She ranks 13th nationally in shots on goal per game at 2.50. Tripp has three goals, while Miller, Bushman, Nicole Ray and Anna Pickering each have two. Heather Stainbrook and Cassidy McCormick also have a goal this season. Stainbrook ranks second on the team in total shots with 30, followed by Tripp with 24 and London Miller with 23. Brockbank and Stainbrook lead the team in assists with three apiece.  Isabel Jones-Dawe leads the team in the box with a 6-4-2 record. She has recorded 31 saves and owns an .721 save percentage.

ABOUT SEATTLE U
Seattle U enters this week's matches against the Wolverines with an 8-3-1 overall record and a 7-1-1 record in WAC play. The Redhawks have won two straight with a pair of home wins over Chicago State last week. Seattle's last loss was a 2-1 setback at home to Grand Canyon on March 13. After opening the season with a pair of losses to Washington State and Washington, Seattle U has won 8 of 10 games. Sydney Carr leads the Redhawks and the nation in scoring with 13 goals this season. She also ranks second national in points with 28. She has three game winners. As a team, Seattle ranks third in the country in shots on goal per game, averaging 9.0 a contest.

SERIES HISTORY VS. SEATTLE U
Utah Valley and Seattle U will meet on the pitch for the 21st time on Thursday. SU holds an all-time 16-2-2 series advantage over the Wolverines. Seattle U has won three straight over the Wolverines, including a pair of games last season in the Emerald City. This week's matches against the Redhawks will be a rematch of last season's WAC Tournament championship match, which SU took 2-1 in overtime. In the past five matches, SU owns just a 4-0-1 advantage. UVU's last win over the Redhawks came on Sept. 30, 2017 in Orem with the Wolverines taking a 3-0 win. UVU's two wins over the Redhawks in the all-time series came in the WAC Tournament championship match of the 2015 tournament and in 2017's regular season match in Orem. UVU holds a 1-5-1 record against SU in matches played in Orem. UVU's last two matches against SU were both overtime contests.

UTAH VALLEY PICKS UP 3-2 WIN OVER DIXIE STATE IN ST. GEORGE ON SATURDAY
London Miller recorded a brace with a goal in each half, including the game winner to help lead the Utah Valley women's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Dixie State in the Old Hammer Rivalry match on Saturday at Trailblazer Stadium.

Utah Valley was first to get on the scoreboard as Grace Beeston sent in a corner kick to Amber Tripp, who then sent a cross into the box. London Miller one-touched the pass from Tripp with her left foot into the back of the net to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute.
 
The Wolverines scored again in the 42nd minute after Heather Stainbrook sent in a line drive free kick into the box from 25 yards out. Sydney Bushman was able to get a head on it and place it into the net to give Utah Valley a 2-0 advantage.
 
Isabel Jones-Dawe sent a ball from the back line all the way down past midfield to Sydney Bushman, who then passed it to a streaking Anna Pickering down the right side. Pickering dribbled it once and then sent the ball to Miller inside the box. Miller one-touched it with her left foot into the back of the net as the Wolverines jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 55th minute.
 
Dixie State scored a goal in the 63rd and 80th minutes to get within a goal, but couldn't get any closer as UVU secured the 3-2 victory.
 
Utah Valley outshot Dixie State 14-10, including a 9-5 advantage on frame. The Wolverines had eight corner kicks to DSU's two. Jones-Dawe recorded three saves in the box for UVU.
 
Miller, Brockbank, Bushman, and Lily Haskins each had two shots on the day. Breanna Eves, Julianna Carter, Tripp, Pickering, Breanna DeWaal, and Amanda Mangelson each had one.
