Box Score LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Utah Valley University found itself on the wrong end of a pitcher's duel for the second straight day at UNLV, 1-0, in the Wolverines' final game of the Boyd Gaming Classic.
Devyn Cretz went the distance for the Wolverines, allowing just four hits but took the tough-luck loss.
The Wolverines (5-8) got a runner on in the seventh when Danyé Albritton drew a two-out walk, but Jenny Bressler, who shut out UVU on Saturday, notched a strikeout to end the game and earn the save. Jenna Perez started and pitched 5.0 innings for the Rebels (11-4) and surrendered just two hits while striking out seven. Bressler and Perez combined to strike out 10 and allowed just three hits.

Rien Milliken and Jaedan Barajas were the three Utah Valley players with hits. UNLV had three of its four hits in the fifth. J. Martin tripled with one out and scored when A. Trejo double on the next pitch. The Rebels loaded the bases but Cretz got out of the inning to limit the damage to just the single run.

Katie Zuniga, also pitched a complete game but took the loss in a 2-0 contest.
The Wolverines will now head to California for a Tuesday doubleheader at UC Santa Barbara before a twin bill on Wednesday at UC Riverside. UVU is set to open its home schedule next Sunday at 2 p.m. MT against Idaho State.
