UTAH VALLEY HOSTS CALIFORNIA BAPTIST THIS WEEK AT CLYDE FIELD
Utah Valley will play its first matches of the season at home in Orem when the Wolverines host WAC foe California Baptist on Thursday and Saturday at Clyde Field. Thursday's match is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's match will kickoff at 1 p.m.
The Wolverines head into this week's matches after sweeping a pair of matches at UT Rio Grande Valley last week. UVU opened its series against the Vaqueros with a 3-1 win with
Amber Tripp scoring the game winner and then recording an assist in the victory. The Wolverines then downed the Vaqueros 1-0 on Saturday with
Nicole Ray scoring the game winner.
Through nine matches this season, Brockbank leads the Wolverines in scoring with four goals. She also leads the team with 39 shots, including a team-best 25 on frame. Tripp and Carter has three goals, while Ray and
Anna Pickering each have two.
Heather Stainbrook and
Sydney Bushman also have a goal this season. Stainbrook has 25 shots, followed by Tripp with 23 and
London Miller with 16. Stainbrook, Brockbank, and
Cassidy McCormick each have two assists.
Isabel Jones-Dawe leads the team in the box with a 5-2-1 record. She has recorded 14 saves and owns an .778 save percentage.
As a team, Utah Valley has scored 16 goals while limiting opponents to just four. UVU has 148 shots with 80 on frame this season.

California Baptist enters this week's games against Utah Valley with a 6-1-1 overall record and a 4-1-0 mark in WAC play. The team has won two straight after sweeping a pair of games at home over Chicago State last week. The team also has a two-match sweep over Dixie State and a 1-0 loss at Seattle U. The Lancers scored 14 goals in its two matches against Chicago State, defeating the Cougars, 7-0, in each match. Rola Badawiya leads the team with five goals this season, followed by Amy Aquino with four. Romane Salvador leads the team in the box with four shutouts and 17 saves. As a team, CBU has 27 goals while only giving up four.

Utah Valley and California Baptist meet up on the pitch for just the fourth time on Thursday night. Utah Valley owns a 2-1-0 series lead. UVU has won both of its meetings against CBU in Orem, winning in both 2005 and 2019. UVU took a 2-0 win over the Lancers last season in Orem.
