UVU hosts No. 3 Washington Thursday at Clyde Field

WOLVERINES HOST #3 WASHINGTON
Utah Vallley University hosts the No. 3-ranked team in the country, the University of Washington, on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. MT at Clyde Field. The Huskies will be the highest-ranked opponent for the Wolverines in the program's history, which began in 2014.

Both teams enter the contest unbeaten, with the Wolverines at 3-0-2 and Huskies a perfect 4-0-0. In addition to its No. 3 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll, Washington is No. 1 in the Far West Region rankings while UVU is currently No. 7 in the same poll, up one spot from last week. Thursday's game can be seen live on ESPN+ with Brandon Crow and Brigham Harris on the call. Single-game tickets are available via GoUVU.com/tickets.

LAST TIME OUT
The Wolverines went 1-0-1 on their road trip to Illinois last week, playing Northwestern to a scoreless draw before a 2-1 win at Bradley on Sunday afternoon. Against Bradley, UVU trailed 1-0 at the half before Carter Johnson tied the game and Aaron Nixon later notched his second game-winning goal of the young season. The five-game unbeaten streak matches the program's longest stretch without a loss to start a season since the 2015 NCAA Tournament team began 5-0-0.

ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Washington has surrendered just one goal through its first four matches, which came less than four minutes into its season opener, an eventual 2-1 victory over UC Davis. The Huskies also have shutout wins over Cal State Fullerton (4-0), Grand Canyon (2-0), and Dartmouth (3-0). The Wolverines are the second of three WAC opponents for Washington this season. The Huskies play at crosstown rival Seattle U on Monday night.

The Teams have split two prior meetings, with Utah Valley earning a 2-1 win to open 2016 over the 20th-ranked Huskies at Clyde Field. UVU, which went on to win the WAC regular season title, was ranked No. 20 at the time. A season later, No. 19 Washington won in Seattle in convincing fashion, 4-0.

UP NEXT
Thursday's match wraps up the non-conference schedule, with the Wolverines set to open WAC play with three straight road contests. UVU will face in-state foe Dixie State in the Old Hammer Rivalry for the first time next Saturday, Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. MT in St. George in the conference opener.
