OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's volleyball team will host a pair of important conference matchups this week against UT Arlington on Oct 13 at 5:00 p.m. and Stephen F. Austin on Oct 15 at 11:00 a.m.
The Wolverines are coming off a pair of victories last week against Chicago State and Seattle U.
Kazna Tanuvasa had an impressive week to lead UVU offensively with 25 kills and a .357 hitting percentage on the week en route to recording her first double-double of the season against the Redhawks. UVU as a team had their best hitting performance against Seattle U and will look to build off that this weekend against good defensive teams.
The Mavericks and Lady Jacks make their first trips to Orem this week. UTA was swept by California Baptist and Grand Canyon a week ago but sits towards the top in most statistical categories. Brianna Ford leads the Mavericks with 3.25 kills per set, while Sophie Skinner adds about 7.98 assists a game.
Stephen F. Austin enters 17-2 overall on the season and have won four straight contests. They swept Grand Canyon and California Baptist and hold the reigning WAC Players of the Week in Ariana Pagan and Izabella Ortiz. Ielan Bradley leads SFA with 216 kills and Pagan with 191. Haley Hoang is a three-time WAC Defensive Player of the Week and leads the Jacks with 5.57 digs/set.
