ARLINGTON, Texas – Seattle U's Richard Bedats and Utah Valley's Nico Torres have been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, for the match week ending on Sunday, Oct. 16.

Torres, a senior midfielder, helped guide a lockdown backline for Utah Valley in a 3-0 shutout of Houston Christian on Oct. 13 and a 2-0 clean sheet against UTRGV on Oct. 15. The Wolverines limited Houston Christian to eight total shots and two on goal and prevented UTRGV from logging a single shot on goal in the victory to close the weekend.

Bedats, a graduate midfielder, was a key reserve for Seattle U in a 2-1 comeback victory at Utah Tech on Oct. 14. Bedats tallied goals at 64:33 and 77:23 to erase a one-goal deficit and put the Redhawks in front for good. Bedats attempted four total shots on goal during his 69 minutes of play against Utah Tech.

Utah Valley returns to the road to take on WAC foes Seattle U and San Jose State this weekend. Kickoff on Friday against the Redhawks is scheduled for 8 p.m. MDT on ESPN+, while Sunday's match against the Spartans is scheduled for 2 p.m. on WAC International.
