Utah Valley travels to play Wake Forest on Tuesday night

UTAH VALLEY TRAVELS TO PLAY WAKE FOREST ON TUESDAY NIGHT
Utah Valley travels to Winston-Salem, North Carolina this week to take on ACC foe Wake Forest on Tuesday night at Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The game will be the first of four straight road games for the Wolverines who will also travel to play two games at the Jamaica Classic before wrapping up the road swing at Boise State. Tipoff for Tuesday night's game at Wake Forest is set for 5 p.m. (MT).

Trey Woodbury scored a season-high 22 points and Aziz Bandaogo recorded his second straight double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead Utah Valley to a 73-69 win over Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon at the UCCU Center. Le'Tre Darthard was also in double figures with 13 points with three makes from beyond the arc. Bandaogo also had a season-high four blocks and one steal. Justin Harmon scored seven points with six rebounds, five assists, and a block, while Jaden McClanahan and Tahj Small came off the bench to score seven points apiece.

Through three games this season, Trey Woodbury leads the Wolverines in scoring at 14.3 points a game, followed closely behind by Aziz Bandaogo at 14.0 points a contest. Bandaogo also leads the team on the boards, pulling down 9.3 rebounds a game. Le'Tre Darthard and Justin Harmon are nearing double figure scoring averages at 9.3 and 9.0 points per game, respectively.

Utah Valley returns eight players, including three starters from last year's team that won 20 games. Starters Le'Tre Darthard, Blaze Nield, and Tim Fuller return to the squad. Last season's sixth man, Justin Harmon, also returns for his junior season. Jaden McClanahan, Tim Ceaser, and Jordan Battle return this season.

Trey Woodbury was named to the WAC's preseason All-WAC team by both the coaches and media. The Las Vegas native earned All-WAC honors in 2020-21. He returns for his senior season after leading the Wolverines in scoring at 15.6 points per game during the 2020-21 season. He was sidelined last season with an injury, but came back to play in UVU's two WAC Tournament contests in Las Vegas.

Tuesday's game at Wake Forest will be broadcast live on ESPN+, which is available at on the ESPN app and at ESPNplus.com.  The game will also be broadcast over the air waves in Utah County with Jim McCulloch on the call. The radio broadcast will be aired live on ESPN 960 AM radio. A live stream of the radio broadcast will also be available at ESPN960sports.com.

ABOUT WAKE FOREST
Wake Forest enters Tuesday's matchup against Utah Valley with a 2-0 record. The team defeated Fairfield, 71-59, in its season opener before downing Georgia, 81-71, on Friday night. Daivien Williamson leads the team in scoring at 19.0 points a game, followed by Tyree Appleby at 15.0 points a contest. Andrew Carr and Cameron Hildreth also average double figures at 11.5 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Hildreth leads the team in rebounding at 7.0 boards a game. As a team, Wake Forest is averaging 76.0 points a game while limiting opponents to a 65.0 points per game average. Williamson and Appleby led Wake Forest with 24 and 22 points, respectively in the team's 81-71 win over Georgia on Friday night. Wake Forest returns six letterwinners and one starter from last year's team that went 25-10, finished fifth in the ACC, and made a run to the quarterfinals of the NIT. The Demon Deacons have made 23 NCAA Tournament appearances. The team is coached by Steve Forbes who is in his third season with the team.

SERIES HISTORY VS. WAKE FOREST, ACC
Utah Valley and Wake Forest will meet on the basketball hardwood for the first time. Tuesday's game against the Demon Deacons will mark the third time that Utah Valley has played an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference. UVU last played an ACC opponent on Nov. 11, 2017 with the Wolverines taking a 99-69 loss at Duke. UVU also dropped a 96-68 decision at Louisville on Dec. 23, 2015.

TEAM GAME

Utah Valley dished out 25 assists on 35 made baskets in its 91-64 win over Western Colorado on Nov. 9. The 25 assists are the eighth-most blocks recorded in a single game in the nation this season. UVU only recorded 25 or more assists in one game all of last season when it recorded 26 against Bethesda on Dec. 17, 2021. UVU also recorded 20 assist on its 25 made field goals in Saturday's 73-69 win over Northern Arizona. UVU is averaging 17.6 assists per game.

BLOCK PARTY
Newcomer Aziz Bandaogo has play just three games but has already established himself as the team's rim protector. Bandaogo has 10 blocks over his three games, which already ranks him tied for second with two other players in the nation on the individual blocks list. He is also tied with 17 other players as the national double-double leader with two.

DUNK VALLEY
Utah Valley has 12 dunks over its two games this season and Aziz Bandaogo is responsible for seven of them. Justin Harmon and Trey Woodbury each have two flushes, while Tim Fuller has one. 

UTAH VALLEY TO PLAY IN JERSEY MIKE'S JAMAICA CLASSIC
Utah Valley announced that it will be competing in the Jersey Mike's Jamaica Classic, Nov. 18-20, at the Montego Bay Convention Center in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
