GUATEMALA CITY — Former Utah Valley University softball player Linnah Rebolledo and the Mexico National Softball Team are competing at the Pan American Softball Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Rebolledo was named to the Mexican national team in July after finishing her career with the Wolverines in May. Rebolledo was named to the All-WAC first team in each of her final two seasons in Orem. As a senior, she batted a career-best .367 with six home runs, 13 doubles and 39 runs batted in. She finished her career with a .322 average, 17 home runs, 33 doubles and 109 RBIs. Her 171 career hits rank seventh on the program's all-time list.

Team Mexico opened Group B play at the Pan Am Softball Championships with an 8-1 victory over the Dominican Republic on Saturday and a 3-1 win over Cuba on Sunday. Mexico has four more games in the group stage, including Monday night's matchup against the WBSC team at 7:05 p.m. MDT. Mexico faces Nicaragua on Tuesday at 9 a.m. MDT and closes out group play with a doubleheader against Peru and Canada on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. MDT.
